Free Internet Access
and Skills Development Program

The VolNet program is an initiative of Industry Canada designed to
improve the voluntary sector’s access to information technology and the
related skills and tools available to help it play a stronger role in
Canadian society.
Phoenix Community Works Foundation (PCWF) of Toronto has been
selected by Industry Canada to deliver the program in the Greater Toronto
Area. It will be offering comprehensive packages to 125 non-profit groups.
All groups who are eligible will receive: ·
FREE
Internet Access for one year including two e-mail accounts and website
space ·
FREE
skills development training; and ·
SUBSIDIZED
computer equipment (Industry Canada will subsidize up to 50% for new or
recycled equipment) PCWF
will be assessing organizations for eligibility during the next three
months or until the program is full. Groups wanting to take advantage of
the program should call Shannon Hamilton or Glenn McKnight at 416-964-7921
for eligibility information and application forms.
PCWF will process applications within 48 hours with delivery of the
program commencing almost immediately. Please note that it is important to
apply as soon as possible. Space is limited to 125 organizations.
