Olympic Airways Flight 423

HALIFAX, NS – The Executive Council of the Greek Orthodox Community of St. George, Halifax, Nova Scotia, wish to thank the volunteers of the Red Cross, police, paramedics, members and friends of the community and Philoptochos, and businesses for their efforts in assisting and comforting the crew and passengers of the Olympic Airways Flight 423 which was diverted to Halifax following the tragic events in the United States. We also would like to congratulate Olympic Airways for handling successfully a very difficult situation and through timely interventions by the crew kept the 301 passengers well informed of the developments. Finally, we thank the passengers whose patience and help made the volunteers’ efforts a pleasant mission.
