Daughters of Penelope elects Chris Papadopoulos – Canadian President

 

            The delegates of the Daughters of Penelope, the International Greek-American Women’s Organization elected Chris Papadopoulos, Toronto, Ontario, its Canadian President for the year 2002-2003.

            Mrs. Papadopoulos was elected to her position on July 20, 2002, at the 80th AHEPA Family Supreme Convention held in the beautiful city of New York.

            The newly elected Canadian President served as District #23 Governor for Eastern Canada the past two years as well held all other positions in the District Lodge. She also served as Daughters of Penelope Toronto Chapter President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chairman of the Board and Advisory Board member. Mrs. Papadopoulos is 21-year member of the Daughters of Penelope and past Maids of Athena member.

            Canadian President Papadopoulos looks forward to continue to promote the programs of the AHEPA Family. She will encourage the support of the National and Local Projects in Canada, including scholarships for our youth and the Greek Orthodox Theological Academy.

            The Daughters of Penelope is an organization of the AHEPA Family. AHEPA stands for American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association. The mission statement of the AHEPA Family is to promote the ideals of Hellenism, education, philanthropy, civic responsibilities, family and individual excellence.

            The AHEPA Family consists of four organizations: AHEPA, Daughters of Penelope, Sons of Pericles and Maids of Athena.
