PHOTO RELEASE
HELP
TAKE US OVER THE TOP!
October 7, 2010 -- Ontario has quickly moved to be among the top provinces
signed up to “Do The Drill” in the Great Canadian Fire Drill that
started October 3. Fire Chief Tim Beckett, who represents Ontario for the
Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, is pictured at left kicking off the
public education campaign. Teachers are instructing our K-3
students how to create a fire escape plan at home. Then teachers,
families and fire departments can register online at www.safeathome.ca/drill
for provincial bragging rights and the chance to win prizes from sponsors
Scholastic, Kidde Canada and Duracell and to print off special
Participation Certificates. The Great Canadian Fire Drill extends
Fire Prevention Week, running all October-long. C’MON ONTARIO, DO THE
DRILL!
QUOTE:
“When a smoke alarm goes off, everyone in the family must know where to
go and what to do,”. “There is no time for uncertainty. Creating
and practising a home fire drill can save lives and Ontario citizens need
to be better prepared.”
