George Stephanopoulos to
Address the “The Business of Politics” at Drexel University
PHILADELPHIA
(October 18, 2005)—George Stephanopoulos,
host of the ABC news program This Week and former press secretary
and communications director for President Bill Clinton, will visit Drexel
University and speak on “Industry Perspectives: The Business of
Politics” on October 25, at 9 a.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall (32nd and
Chestnut Streets).
Stephanopoulos
was named anchor of This Week in June 2002. Since he began
anchoring the show, it has covered a wide range of breaking news stories
while also featuring important exclusive interviews, ranging from the
first-ever Sunday morning interview with two Supreme Court justices to
heads of state to presidential candidates.
Prior to
being named anchor, Stephanopoulos was an ABC News correspondent,
reporting on a wide variety of political, domestic and international
stories for This Week, World News Tonight, Good Morning
America and other programs.
Before
joining ABC News in 1997, Stephanopoulos served in the Clinton
administration as the senior advisor to the president for policy and
strategy, and is the author of All Too Human, a New York Times
best seller. Stephanopoulos was executive floor manager to House Majority
Leader Richard A. Gephardt before joining the Clinton campaign.
Stephanopoulos
grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his master’s degree in theology
at Balliol College, Oxford University, England, where he studied as a
Rhodes Scholar. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Columbia
University and graduated summa cum laude in political science.
The event is
part of LeBow College’s lecture series. LeBow College offers three
