Karygiannis acclaimed as Liberal candidate in Scarborough-Agincourt
SCARBOROUGH, ON - Incumbent Member of Parliament, Jim Karygiannis, has been acclaimed as the Liberal candidate in the riding of Scarborough-Agincourt.
"I am very honoured to carry the Liberal standard in this riding in the next federal election," said Mr. Karygiannis. " I look forward to the challenge."
Mr. Karygiannis received the endorsement of hundreds of enthusiastic members of the Scarborough-Agincourt Federal Liberal Association at its nomination meeting held yesterday. In his acceptance speech, he told the crowd he appreciated their continued support.
"I am honoured that you have, once again, placed your trust in me. Over the last eighteen years, I have worked diligently to ensure that the issues affecting you are addressed. During the coming months the Liberal Party will experience many changes. I will continue to be there to represent everyone in the riding."
Mr. Karygiannis was first elected in 1988.
