38th Annual Christmas Around the World Festival at City Hall Rotunda, December 7 and 8

 

            The Community Folk Art Council of Toronto and its member groups will be bringing together more than 25 different ethnic community Christmas displays at the 38th Annual Christmas Around the World Festival at City Hall Rotunda, 100 Queen St. W, December 7 and 8, from noon – 5 p.m.

            The sights and scents of Christmas will transform City Hall’s Rotunda into an international marketplace of Yuletide delight including: Ukrainian pyrizhky, Portuguese bolo rei, Filipino lumpya, Scots shortbread and Polish barsczc. Traditional ornaments, handicrafts, artwork and tapestries from around the world will also be available for purchase, each designed with Christmas in mind.

            Sveti Nikolai, Father Christmas, Sinterklaas and St. Nicholas (Santa Claus’ European cousins) will be on hand to entertain the little ones and Santa Claus may even drop by to share in the fun and good food.

            Admission is free.
