George Sardelis chosen as

Toronto-Danforth PC Candidate

"Ontario has come too far to risk a return to the tax-and-spend habits that caused so much damage in the past," newly acclaimed Toronto-Danforth Provincial PC candidate George Sardelis told a room full of supporters at Estonian House on Broadview Avenue tonight.

"Toronto-Danforth is a community of hard-working, tax-paying residents and business owners who understand that we need jobs, economic growth and fiscal responsibility in order to pay for the health, education and social programs we all value so highly."

Sardelis, who went to work in his family’s business when he was nine years old, has almost a decade of experience as a political volunteer and worker.

The Toronto-Danforth Provincial PC Riding Association gathered to nominate Sardelis as their candidate in the next provincial election (which must be called by June, 2004).

Sardelis was introduced by Ted Chudleigh, MPP for Halton-Peel and Parliamentary Assistant to Ontario’s Minister of Finance, the Honourable Janet Ecker.

"George is an excellent candidate to represent the people of Toronto-Danforth," said Chudleigh. "He understands the issues and brings with him the experience of government that will effectively and efficiently serve the constituents of this riding."

"I am pleased and honoured to be the PC candidate for our lively and diverse riding," said Sardelis. "Toronto-Danforth is a model community in which to live, work, and raise a family. I hope to have the opportunity to work in support of the hard-working people and families who live here, as their representative in an Ernie Eves government."
