Annual United Nations Day program

 

CHICAGO, ILL – Governor George H. Ryan sponsored the annual United Nations Day program. The program included speakers from the Illinois Department of Human Rights, UNICEF and United Nations Association. Over 200 people participated in the parade in international costumes representing more than 30 nations. The event took place at the James R. Thompson center with over 1,000 in attendance. Master of Ceremony was Elena Spilioti, producer and announcer of the Greek radio program and principal of St. Andrew Greek School.
