Βιταμίνη Ε και χομοσυστήνη

            Η χομοσυστήνη, που πρέπει να είναι γνωστή στους αναγνώστες της επιθεώρησης «Πατρίδες» από το προηγούμενο άρθρο μου «Φυσιολογικά μέσα για την καλή λειτουργία της καρδιάς», είναι πάλι στα νέα. Έρευνες (double bind) στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Iowa, USA, με ηλικιωμένους εθελοντές, οι οποίοι έλαβαν 1200 I.U. βιταμίνης Ε, ήταν σε θέση να αντιστρέψουν τη βλάβη, που προκαλεί η χομοσυστήνη στο εσωτερικό των αρτηριών. Η χομοσυστήνη είναι ένα χημικό παράγωγο (sulfur aminoacid), το οποίο, όπως πιστεύεται, επηρεάζει τη χοληστερίνη, ώστε η τελευταία να προκαλέσει αρτηριοσκλήρωση και υπέρταση. Παρόμοια ευεργετικά αποτελέσματα έχει αποδείξει και η χρήση της βιταμίνης C σε προηγούμενες έρευνες (American Journal of Cardiology, Aug. 2001).

            Έρευνες επίσης από Ιταλούς επιστήμονες στη χρήση της βιτ. Ε απέδειξαν τα ακόλουθα σε ηλικιωμένους άνδρες πάνω από τα 80: Εάν κυκλοφορεί αρκετή βιτ. Ε στο αίμα του υπερηλίκου, ο κίνδυνος για καρδιακή προσβολή, εγκεφαλικό και υπέρταση είναι 10 φορές μικρότερος σε σύγκριση με αυτούς που έχουν πολύ λίγη βιτ. Ε στο αίμα τους (Journal of the America Geriatrics Society, May 2000).

Dr. Burzynski’s cancer cure wins at the Australian Olympics

            With all of those frustrating TV commercials, you might have missed the most important event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. It wasn’t even a sporting event, but rather proof of a cure for cancer.

            18 year old Shontelle Hiron was chosen to carry the Olympic torch for her hometown of Mandurah, Australia. What a story of courage, strength and determination!

            Six years earlier, Shontelle had been diagnosed with a brain tumor so large, fast-growing and deadly, that no treatment was even offered at the local hospital. They told her she had three months to live.

            Refusing to accept this death sentence, Shontelle’s parents had heard about Dr. Burzynski’s work with antineoplastons and sought out his advice. The town joined together to raise the funds for Shontelle to travel and receive treatment at Dr. Burzynski’s clinic thousands of miles in Texas.
