GARY E. JONES JOINS THE CENTER FOR ECONOMIC AND INDUSTRY RESEARCH, LLC©

Business Valuation Luminary Gary E. Jones Comes out of Retirement

SALT LAKE CITY—May 22, 2006—The Center for Economic & Industry Research, LLC (formerly known as CEIR) is pleased to announce that business valuation luminary Gary E. Jones has agreed to come out of retirement to become Chief Executive Officer.

Gary’s first order of business has been to re-evaluate all business strategies and completely revamp the company’s website, which will be unveiled at the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts’ (NACVA) Thirteenth Annual Consultants' Conference in San Francisco, May 31–June 3, 2006.

Gary is nationally renowned within the financial community as an expert in business valuation.  During his 35-year career, Gary served as a partner with Petrinovich, Pugh & Jones, a CPA firm in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He founded a successful million-dollar valuation consulting firm ValueNomics®, which was purchased in 2005 by the top 100 national firm, Armanino McKenna, LLP.  Gary wrote The Business of Business Valuation, which was published by McGraw-Hill in 1998.  He is currently an active member of several professional and service organizations, and is an award-winning member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

“I am totally ecstatic to have hired Gary to head up the Center for Economic & Industry Research, Inc.  When I first met him 14 years ago, we immediately clicked and he assumed the informal role of being one of my creative advisors.  I can honestly say that one-third of what NACVA is today had Gary’s creative genius behind it.  I admiringly watched Gary quickly rise to the pinnacle of the business valuation profession, setting the example for other valuators nationwide on what to do to be successful.  His success story is one I have shared with many NACVA members.  Having him on our team is assurance that the Center will deliver all that it promises, and it will soon be the ultimate clearinghouse for data and information on private companies,” said Parnell Black, chief executive officer for NACVA.
