Dimitrios Angelatos of Patrides with his granddaughter Emmalia are enjoying the flowers outside his home in Surrey on May Day. With the mild climate in the Vancouver area many shrubs such as lilacs and bridal lace (as above) have already finished blooming before they start to bloom in other parts of the country. Some rhododendrons start blooming in February but the majority are in full bloom by the beginning of May.
