University of Manitoba Centre for Hellenic Civilization Offers the above course At
Manitoba Downtown 11
The Promenade (Behind
the Eaton Place) in
the fall 2005 The course will be offered every Tuesday from 6-9 pm, starting Tuesday, September 13, 2005. The
course will include local and visiting lecturers, films and will explore
the problems and the structure of the community organizations, and how
these problems affected the Greek immigrants in the following countries:
Canada, US, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, and Russia. Some
questions that the course will explore are: What “push/pull” factors made those
immigrants to immigrate to these countries? What were the problems that the first
immigrants encountered in these countries? How did they deal with these problems? How did they organize their communities and
