in the fall 2005

 

The course will be offered every Tuesday from 6-9 pm, starting Tuesday, September 13, 2005.

The course will include local and visiting lecturers, films and will explore the problems and the structure of the community organizations, and how these problems affected the Greek immigrants in the following countries: Canada, US, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, and Russia.

Some questions that the course will explore are:

     What “push/pull” factors made those immigrants to immigrate to these countries?

     What were the problems that the first immigrants encountered in these countries?

     How did they deal with these problems?

     How did they organize their communities and what were the internal and external

     Conflicts in these communities?
