The student Stratis Blanas from Rawlinson Community
School receiving the award from Tony Rupreht. Stratis
is in Grade 6.
We are proud to announce
that a student of Greek Heritage is among those who received the “Good
Citizenship Award for Juniors” at an award ceremony sponsored by Tony
Ruprecht, M.P.P. at the Ontario legislature.
This student was selected
by his teachers and principal at his school for having demonstrated the
following positive character traits: 1. Kindness; 2. Respect for other
people’s feelings; 3. Being helpful towards younger children and the
elderly; and 4. Conducting themselves in a responsible fashion towards
their parents, teachers and peers. This student received a personalized
certificate.
The awards were
introduced in 1978, and were designed to encourage responsible citizenship
amongst our community’s youth.
“This year’s winners
represent the qualities we would all like to see in today’s youth. They
are the type of children who serve as wonderful role models for their
peers.” stated MPP Tony Ruprecht
