Builders of the community Hellenic
Heritage Foundation
On Friday, December 14, 2001, the Hellenic Heritage Foundation held
its annual Christmas Dinner at Topiary’s Dining. George Danos, a
director of the Foundation and proprietor of Topiary’s, provided a
tremendous dinner free of charge for approximately fifty guests. Among
the Foundation’s directors and members were Bill Vomvolakis, Vice-Chair
of GreekTown on the Danforth BIA, who presented the Foundation with a
cheque in the amount of $10,000 raised from the annual Krinos Foods
Taste of the Danforth and Terry Farsalas, president of AHEPA, who also
presented a cheque in the amount of $3,000 raised from AHEPA’s Annual
Golf Tournament, John Dagonas, the Hellenic Heritage Foundation’s
president, was overwhelmed by the tremendous generosity shown by GreekTown
and AHEPA and expressed his gratitude toward the Foundation’s directors,
members and the Greek community at large for their continued support and
determination to help make the Hellenic Studies Chair at York University a
reality.
